A fine Osaka souvenir to gift to those who know truly delicious food.
The high-end kombu from "Guraya Osaka Eishinbashi-machi" is a dish that adorns the table on New Year's Day and special occasions. Especially the "Kagokuzai Ryosho" (2,699 yen, including tax), which combines a number of bonito and gold leaf kombu in a single pack of four, exudes a luxurious beauty suitable for gifting.
From a hair pomade shop to a kelp merchant
The first generation worked as servants in a shop selling hair oil, and in 1848, after receiving permission to open a shop, they opened a kombu (kelp) business. In 1897, they moved their shop to the Eishibashi area, and have been operating there for over 170 years since the founding. They have continued their business in a corner of Minami that was once a bustling theater district, and have been in business since the Meiji era.

Store appearing in Oda Sakunosuke's "Meoto Zenzai"
Oguraya also appears in the novel *Meoto Zenzai* by Sakunosuke Oda, an author who depicted Osaka. Featured in the work is the shop's "sansho konbu" (kelp with Japanese pepper). Thus, a kelp shop on Ebisubashi-suji is etched into literature that reflects the city and life of Osaka.
For special occasions and everyday life
As a gift, we recommend the "Kagaya Ryosho" set of dried bonito and gold leaf bonito (4 pieces each; 2,699 yen, including tax). For everyday use, the "Furakake Tororo Konbu" (20 g; 378 yen) is convenient. Simply sprinkle it over rice, cold meat, or tofu and the flavor of this traditional bonito will spread throughout your table.
