If you want to buy souvenirs in the Namba area, go to this shop first.
The roots of the company date back to the Tensho period when it started as a paper wholesaler.
Ichibiri-an’s roots can be traced back to Senosya, a paper wholesaler founded during the Tensho period. In the Meiji period, the store opened on Eishibashi Street, and after becoming a stationery store and a fancy shop, it became Ichibiri-an in 2001.
From quirky things to the real deal
The store offers a wide range of souvenirs, from humorous Osaka-style treats to high-quality products. This store is also unique in that it stocks Osaka's "local sauces," such as Oku no So and Hermes sauce. You can take home these familiar flavors from local tables.
An Osaka-style item that makes for a great conversation starter
"Takoyaki Yokkan" is a dish that perfectly complements the conversation, using plenty of Takoyaki sauce from a local Osaka-based sauce maker and adding red shoga. It includes "Chorokennepi," a sweet potato cake that combines the sweetness of sweet potatoes with the mild saltiness of red shoga; "Minamonone," a golden candy that imitates the neon reflected in the water of the Dotonbori River; and more. These are all items that will liven up the conversation with the person you're talking to.
