Regarding lanterns (donated lanterns) for the Dotonbori River Lantern Festival 2026, please see the details below. We kindly ask for your warm support and cooperation so that we can hang many lanterns, including those filled with feelings for your beloved stars/idols, to offer a picturesque view full of summer emotion to the many visitors of the Minami district.
Each year, various messages are conveyed through these lanterns. Please inscribe your heartfelt desires onto a lantern.
We look forward to many applications.
Number of lanterns to be solicited: 2,000 (planned)
Application acceptance begins Sunday, March 1, 2026 at 10:00 AM
Application deadline: April 15, 2026 (Wednesday) 12:00 AM
Offerings
Regarding new lanterns, due to the rising costs of manufacturing, setup, and maintenance, we regret to inform you that we have revised the price to ¥15,000 per lantern.
Existing lanterns refer to lanterns that you applied for in fiscal year 2025.
You can still make an offering of 10,000 yen per light.

We will close applications once we have received 2,000 applications.
Please note that you cannot specify a location for donating lanterns.
