The famous "Kusatsu Darlama," known for "no second serving of sauce!" was born in Shinjuku in 1929. This is the original shop of kushatsu ramen that has been around since 1929. It is located at the main store in Namba, the center of Minami (the original location of the store is the main store in Shinjuku). It offers Osaka's famous dish that can be eaten in a few bites with a crispy outer layer and a light sauce.
The original taste of kushikatsu, unchanged.
Daruma's skewered cutlet boasts a crispy, light outer layer with fine grains. The variety of ingredients includes beef skewer, shrimp, and vegetables, and you can enjoy it hot with the secret sauce. The affordability of the dish, starting at 100 yen per piece, is also a reason for its popularity.
"No Double-Dipping" You Should Know
To keep shared sauce containers clean, “double-dosing” of the skewered sauce is prohibited. This is a traditional practice that symbolizes Osaka’s skewered cut culture. When there isn’t enough sauce, the traditional way to serve is to scoop up the sauce with cabbage and pour it over the skewered cut. At the Namba branch, ordering the “sauce cabbage set” (352 yen, including tax) includes both the ban on double-dosing and the sauce.
