Namba Yasaka Shrine Summer Festival Land Procession

Naniwa Yasaka Shrine, formerly known as Namba Shimo no Miya, is the ujigami (patron deity) of the Namba area, and its summer festival is also called the Namba Festival. Following the previous day's Funa Togyo (boat procession), a parade proceeds through the parishioners' neighborhoods. Rituals and performances are held within the shrine grounds.

On the 14th, we will parade through the Shio-kusa, Inari, Tatsuha, and Horie areas, from Sennichimae to Dotonbori and Ebisu-bashi-suji. The procession, featuring a portable shrine as the centerpiece, along with taiko drums and lion dances, will include local children and stretch nearly 100 meters. Within the shrine grounds, both days will feature lion dances and mochi-tossing events starting at 6:00 PM on the Shishi-butai stage.
